What an absolutely beautiful post Farida. Thank you so much for helping me to reflect on the reality of resolutions through French philosophy. In the spirit of the post: my resolution means exile from the comfort of the an academy as I really want to challenge why AI is making everyone in higher education feel so uncomfortable. 🙏

Sam, guilty as charged, my French affinity always finds its way in! But honestly, there’s so much wisdom to draw from poetry and philosophy. It’s part of what makes your resolution so powerful. Challenging AI and questioning its role in education? That’s exactly the kind of discomfort we need to embrace. Always learning from your perspective

This took a (beautiful) direction I did not expect! My resolution means exile from following my curiosity wherever it takes me, allowing some ideas to sit as simply ideas, time away from friends and connections to be in the "writing cave," and - somewhat ironically - time away from writing. My violin is to see my work published and available to the world.

Adri, I love how you put it, I call this the lonely chapter, the becoming exile. It's that moment when you're stepping away from everything else to fully focus on your work. It’s hard, but it’s the only way to truly make something of your own. Your violin sounds so worth it!
